Loons go full Minnesotan, couldn't possibly accept Colorado's help
Minnesotans know: even when somebody really, really tries to help you, and even if you really need the help, it's only polite to repeatedly refuse
An underrated part of the strangeness of Minnesotan culture is this rule, which is rarely written down: if someone offers to help you, you have to say no.
It doesn't matter how minor the help, nor how dire your predicament. You haven't eaten, and someone's holding an extra muffin? You're on crutches, and someone's offering you a ride? You're hanging from the edge a cliff, and they have a rope? The correct answer to an offer of help is always, "No, that's okay, thanks though."
This is how we can tell if you're from out of town. If you immediately say, "Thanks, that'd be great," we know that either you're not from here, or you are dying.
