"He's got a big future": Fanendo Adi is helping Marcus Caldeira shoot to the forefront for MNUFC
MNUFC2 head coach Fanendo Adi was the right coach in the right place at the right time, for Loons striker Marcus Caldeira.
If you were going to hand-pick a coach for MNUFC striker Marcus Caldeira, who's listed at 6'2" and nearly 200 pounds, you'd probably want to get him someone who's got plenty of experience as a center forward. Somebody else who used his size to his advantage, and who made it to the top level in MLS, and can guide the 22-year-old as he makes the transition to pro soccer.
Like, say, a 6'4" guy who was breaking into MLS at 23, and who then went on to score double-digit goals in three seasons straight, and ended his career in Minnesota, and hung around and now is the manager of MNUFC2.
For Caldeira, having Fanendo Adi as the Doubloons head coach is a matter of right coach, right place, right time. And with Caldeira bursting into the Loons plans, and scoring his first MLS goal Saturday against San Jose, it's working out for the team, too.
